What is the difference between EMA vs MMA?
Methyl methacrylate or MMA, is a liquid acid used to activate the acrylic powder to make it melt onto your nails. It is also SUPER dangerous for you and your nails. Although it is a very hard and strong product, that doesn't always mean it's better. It can cause a lot of damage and irritation around the skin and nails and even lead to nail loss. Since it is harder, jamming it may cause it to completely break the nail plate and resulting in tremendous pain. There's a long list, but you definitely want to stay away from this stuff!
Ethyl methacrylate or EMA, is a much better alternative. The smell of EMA is not nearly as strong as MMA, and it has also been approved by the Cosmetic Ingredient Review in 1999. Once EMA has been properly soaked off of your nails, it won't leave a slimy residue or break down the natural nail plate like MMA.
